When Isaiah predicted that the name of the Christ child would be the Mighty God, he implied that Jehovah would come to earth an dthat all His attributes would be seen in the expected Deliverer. This fact is revealed in God’s creative power.
Jeremiah said, “Ah, Lord God… You have made the heaven and the earth by Your great power and out-stretched arm… the Great, the Mighty God, the Lord of Hosts, is His name.” (Jeremiah 32:17-19) “Power belongs to God” (Psalms 62:11) “Your right hand, O Lord, has become glorious in power..” (Exodus 15:6) “Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might” (Ephesians 6:10) “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth..” (Genesis 1:1). “The sea is His, and He made it: and His hands formed the dry land” (Psalm 95:5).
“O Lord, how marvelous are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all” (Psalm 104:24). “When i consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The mood and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:3,4). “You have made summer and winter” (Psalm 74:17) “Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done” (Psalm 40:5). “It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves” (Psalm 100:3).
“this is the day the Lord has made” (Psalm 11:24) “You have created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were created” (Revelation 4:10). “The Lord you God is in your midst, the Mighty God will save; He will rejoice ove ryou with gladness, He will quiet you in His love, He will rejoice over you with singing and with joy” (Zephaniah 3:17)
Throughout the history of the Hebrew race, The Mighty God has manifested Himself as Creator. The characteristics of the Messiah became visible in His ministry. Jesus “upheld all things by the word of His power” (Hebrews 1:3). God is the Great Creator. That was one of the reasons why Isaiah said, “His name shall be called ‘The Mighty God’.”
